Gastón Mora, president of the Bakers Center of Avellaneda, has urged the government to take action to address the rising bread prices and to support an agreement to stabilize these prices. He mentioned that bakers will meet with the Secretary of Domestic Trade, Guillermo Hang, to discuss the situation and the status of the Argentine Wheat Stabilizer Fund. The government had previously set a reference price for French bread, supported by the bakers but not all millers, and is set to expire next month. Mora highlighted that bakeries, being the last link in the supply chain, are struggling to control prices and face challenges in maintaining profitability while ensuring people continue to buy bread.
