With soybeans and corn on the rise, Brazil harvests the largest crop in history

The Brazilian 2024/25 grain harvest is expected to reach 345.2 million tons, the highest volume ever recorded in the historical series, according to data from the 12th survey by the National Supply Company (Conab). The figure surpasses the previous record by more than 20 million tons, set in the 2022/23 harvest, and represents a 16.3% increase over the 2023/24 cycle — a growth of 49.1 million tons. This significant advance is a direct result of the expansion of the cultivated area, which increased from 79.9 to 81.7 million hectares, and the recovery of the national average productivity, which rose by 13.7%, jumping from 3,769 to 4,284 kilograms per hectare. The performance of the crops was mainly favored by the more stable climatic conditions in the Central-West region, with a highlight for Mato Grosso.
