The Council of Ministers adopted a resolution to amend and supplement Resolution No. 44 of the Council of Ministers from 2010 on the determination of the zones in the airspace of Bulgaria where air navigation is restricted. The resolution defines the prohibited, restricted, and dangerous zones in the airspace. The purpose of the change is to include 21 new missile sites in the hail protection system, which will increase the effectiveness of hail protection and at the same time ensure the safety and security of air navigation over the territory of Bulgaria. According to the strategy for the development of hail protection, it is planned to both expand the coverage of the missile defense and optimize the existing network of missile sites. This network has been operating for over 50 years.
