The World Avocado Organization (WAO) has initiated a 2024 campaign in India to promote the health benefits and culinary uses of avocados, following a successful 2023 campaign that significantly increased avocado consumption in the country. Supported by South African avocado growers, the campaign aims to further integrate avocados into Indian diets. South African growers view India as a promising new market, expanding their focus beyond Europe and the UK. WAO chair Zac Bard and SAAGA CEO Derek Donkin emphasize the potential for growth and increased demand as Indian consumers become more aware of avocados' nutritional value and versatility.
