FranceAgriMer predicts French barley exports for the 2022/23 crop year to reach 3.4 million tonnes, largely due to increased exports to China. Ukraine's winter barley planting area is projected to hit a record low, leading to a production of no more than 6 million tons. Meanwhile, China and Saudi Arabia, major grain importers, are expected to cut their grain imports. Russian barley exports have seen a significant increase, reaching 5 million tons, mainly to Kazakhstan and China, with the export tax on Russian barley being reduced from $33.39/ton to $26.42/ton.
