Soybean oil exports from Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, the US, and Ukraine have dropped to the lowest level in the last 10 years, reaching 386 thousand tons. In particular, shipments from Brazil were almost halved, and exports from Argentina declined by 30%. This decrease in global soybean oil supplies is attributed to high competition from palm, sunflower, and rapeseed oils, as well as high domestic demand in the US and Brazil for use in the biofuel industry.
