The inaugural chili pepper exchange in Hubei province has commenced operations at the Hankoubei International Trade Center in Wuhan, coinciding with the 2023 Wuhan (Hankoubei) commodities fair. This exchange, showcasing 24 varieties of chili peppers from both domestic and international origins, aims to establish itself as a central trading hub for chili peppers in China's central and western regions, serving the spicy food preferences of over 40% of the Chinese population. Managed by the Wuhan International Trade Group, the exchange implements a rigorous selection process for traders, including application submission, quality inspection certificates, and sample reviews, to maintain high standards of quality for the traded goods.
