The National Yerba Mate Institute (INYM) reports a 9.6% increase in yerba mate exports in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, totaling 20,751,278 kilos. Argentine imports from Brazil and Paraguay have decreased, while domestic production reached 563,595,677 kilos of green leaf processed from January to June 2024. The global popularity of yerba mate is rising, driven by its health benefits and promotion by South American soccer players, especially during the Copa América 2024. Yerba mate is also being adapted to various consumption patterns, including carbonated and flavored versions.
