As pointed out by the FAEP System, composed of the Federation of Agriculture of the State of Paraná (FAEP), the National Rural Learning Service of Paraná (SENAR-PR), and the rural unions, the production of mate tea in Paraná maintained the national leadership in 2024, with 897.4 thousand tons, a volume that represented almost 90% of Brazilian production. The Gross Production Value of the sector totaled R$ 1.15 billion in the period, according to data from the Department of Rural Economy of the State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply. Cruz Machado, São Mateus do Sul, and Bituruna concentrated the largest shares in state production. The crop was the theme of the February edition of the Orgulho Paraná Project, an initiative of the FAEP System aimed at valuing Paranaense agricultural products and promoting producers in different regions of the State.
