In Zakarpattia, Ukraine, the price of young local potatoes has seen a notable increase this year, with costs starting from UAH 60/kg for smaller sizes and reaching UAH 65-70/kg for larger ones, marking a significant rise from last year's UAH 50-60/kg. Meanwhile, imported new potatoes from countries like Egypt and Spain are being sold at much lower prices, approximately UAH 34/kg and UAH 32/kg respectively. This situation underscores a substantial hike in the prices of local potatoes, while imported ones continue to be a cheaper alternative for consumers.
