The Zhytomyr region in Ukraine is experiencing a significant revival in its hop production, with 75% of its cultivated area now dedicated to hops and a total of 13 farms involved in the process across the Berdychiv, Zhytomyr, and Korosten districts. Despite facing challenges such as hostilities and financial difficulties, the region has seen a notable increase in hop production, harvesting 390 tons in 2023, which is expected to remain stable in 2024. To further boost the industry and align hop products with European Union standards, the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Agrarian and Land Policy is working on a draft law aimed at regulating various aspects of hop cultivation, production, processing, and labeling. This move demonstrates the country's commitment to improving its hop industry and enhancing its export potential.
