The Kutsaga high-tech agricultural research center in Zimbabwe has used tissue culture technology to distribute over 3 million disease-free sweet potato plants. This initiative aims to help small-scale sweet potato growers become self-sufficient. The country's Agriculture Minister highlighted the importance of efficient cultivation and high-quality sweet potatoes for improved productivity, given that the country is no longer solely dependent on imports.
