REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan mentioned that the price of cayenne pepper remains in the range of Rp 60,000 per kilogram during a surprise visit to Kramat Jati Market, Jakarta, on Monday (29/12/2025). Zulkifli Hasan, along with his team, inspected the movement of food prices and availability two days before the New Year 2026. Zulkifli visited traders of chicken, eggs, and basic commodities. He engaged in direct dialogue with traders to ensure that selling prices in the market align with supply conditions after the Christmas period. “The relatively expensive item is cayenne pepper, which has not decreased much, still at Rp 60,000 per kilogram,” said the Coordinating Minister for Food. The figure, affectionately called Zulhas, explained that the price of other types of cayenne pepper tends to be in the range of Rp 40,000 to Rp 50,000 per kilogram in Jakarta.
