Latin America and the Caribbean reach an agreement to move towards a more sustainable livestock

Santiago de Chile, (EFE).- Latin America and the Caribbean have taken a new step in the transition towards a more sustainable livestock sector with the recent signing of an ambitious agreement that combines the increase in production with the reduction of gas emissions greenhouse gas, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) reported on Wednesday. "Our region is called to become the next global producer of food, so practices that contribute to sustainable, resilient and competitive livestock must be spread more and more, to continue demonstrating that this sector is part of the solution", highlighted the officer for Sustainable Livestock, Animal Health and Biodiversity of the FAO, Andrés González.
