Vietnam experienced a significant surge in the export of cassava and its products in January 2024, with a volume increase of 47.3% and value increase of 38.1% compared to December 2023. China was the primary market, accounting for over 94% of total exports. Other markets like Taiwan and Malaysia also increased their imports from Vietnam. Despite a drop in the average export price from December 2023, it was higher than January 2023. The demand for cassava and its products is projected to remain steady, with a slight rise in raw cassava prices expected in mid-February 2024.
