High Demand for Imported Lemons in Japan in Early March (Mar 10)

The warmer weather in Japan during early March of 2023 has increased the demand for lemon imports compared to previous months in 2023 by particular channels such as food services. The lemon stock volume from the United States and Turkiye at Japanese warehouses stayed below 100K cartons. Import supply might be affected in the upcoming weeks as supplying countries such as the United States and Turkiye face issues. Recent rainfalls in the US have resulted in supply shortages or cancellations of lemon shipments to Japan, which were supposed to arrive in late March and early April. On the other hand, Turkiye faces quality issues, as fruit is deteriorating as the end of the season approaches.
