In W19, in the honey landscape, with spring approaching, beekeepers in Ordu, which has more than 600K colonies and 3,500 registered beekeepers, began preparing for the season. Ordu produces most of the honey in Turkey, which is second in the world for production. As part of the Project of Improving Beekeeping for Production and Employment in Siirt Rural, which was carried out by the GAP Regional Development Administration, Siirt Governorship, and Siirt Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, 5.9K beehives worth USD 570K were given to 295 beekeepers. With about 2.5K MT of honey produced a year and roughly 178K beehives, Siirt is one of Turkey's most significant honey-producing regions.

The primary reasons for this are the consequences of climate change, the challenges brought on by growing expenses, and the requirement to diversify its export goods, all of which have forced the national beekeeping industry to look for new opportunities to generate more revenue. Lastly, the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture reported that bee exports to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had resumed.
