Lemon Price Fluctuation in Major Export Markets

Fresh lemon prices fluctuated in export markets where Mexico recorded an increase of +44.21% and brought the price to 1.43 USD/KG at the end of November, Spain rose +12.75% and recorded an increase to 1.15 USD/KG, while the price decrease in South Africa by -39.22% YoY and bringing the price lower to 0.38 USD/KG. Global lemon exports hit a record high of over 3B USD in 2020 with a significant decline only for Mexico by -7.87% YoY. The decline in Mexican lemon exports was due to an oversupply of lemons as importers outside North America had to pay high shipping costs.
