Germany used to rely on imports of sunflower and safflower oil from the re-exported volume of Netherlands, as its foremost exporter, for the domestic demand. As demand rose, Germany finally began to consider the direct imports from Ukraine, a major global exporter with a solid position to fulfill the demand.
