Cso Italy takes stock of the surfaces cultivated with strawberries and small fruits in our country. A valuable update for companies in the process of developing their strategies for upcoming campaigns. Let's start from the survey carried out by Cso Italy in order to estimate the size of specialized strawberry growing in Italy. A very slight decrease is estimated for the 2024 vintage, as already highlighted last year, (-1% on 2023), totaling approximately 4,070 hectares. 84% of the total plants are grown in protected cultivation, while the remaining 16% are grown in open fields; Greenhouse surfaces increased by one percentage point while open field surfaces decreased by 6%.
