Reduce conventional milk production
Incidentally, the lead from conventional dairy farming is smaller than last year at 1.7%. The organic sector has grown by 8.8% to 121,200 tonnes of milk. The contraction of milk imports from other EU member states is striking. In the third month of the year, imports amounted to 87,564 tons, 4.9% more than in March of 2022. In January, imports were still 23% higher than in the same month a year earlier.
As in the Netherlands, the lead in the German milk supply among dairies is decreasing month after month. In January of this year the lead was still 3.1%, a month later it shrank to 2.1%.
