Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Indonesia's import addiction has not recovered from year to year. Starting from commodities such as soybeans to processed egg products or egg flour. Indonesia routinely imports egg powder and shows an increasing trend every year. In fact, previously Indonesia was one of the countries self-sufficient in soybeans, but now to meet all domestic soybean needs, Indonesia has to import. According to data from the Ministry of Trade, the import value of egg powder in January-November 2022 was US$9.95 million. This figure rose 17.97% (year on year/yoy). In the same period, the volume also reached 1.71 thousand tons, an increase of 3.12% compared to the previous year. The main country of origin for Indonesia's egg powder imports is India, with a share reaching 98% of the total value of egg flour imports for the January-November 2022 period.
