Indonesia: El gobierno estudia tubérculos resistentes a las anomalías climáticas en Papua Central, uno de los cuales es Dieng

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA--The government is currently working with universities to study types of tubers that are resistant to extreme weather changes in Puncak Regency, Central Papua. This is to anticipate drought that will impact on cases of famine in the area in the future. The Ministry of Agriculture and several universities will collaborate to find varieties or types of root crops. "Especially what is the staple food for this population is resistant to the anomalous weather changes," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy in a press statement after the Ministerial Meeting on Handling the Impacts of Drought in Central Papua at the Coordinating Ministry for PMK Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (9/8 /2023).
