With new outbreak of avian flu, Brazil reaches 58 cases

There are now 58 records of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in Brazil. The last case was confirmed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), on Tuesday night (04), in a wild bird of the Trinta-Réis-de-Bando species, in the municipality of Aracruz, in Espírito Santo. Of the 58 cases, 57 were detected in wild birds and one in a domestic duck farm in the Espírito Santo city of Serra. Espírito Santo concentrates the majority of cases in Brazil, but the disease is also present in the three southern states, which keeps the sector highly vigilant, since this region is the largest producer of chicken in the country.
