Italy is the first apricot producing country in Europe with an average production of 136 KMT. But, due to bad weather this year, the harvest will be halved compared to last year and an estimated 56% loss of the product is expected. Of course, the reduced availability of the product will lead to two important consequences, the rise in apricot prices and consequently an increase in imports from abroad.
