Iranian region increases kiwifruit and orange exports by 17% and 104%

Iran produces around 220 KMT of kiwifruits and 180 KMT out of the total are grown in the region of Mazandaran as well as orange production of 1.75 MMT.
The region exported 184 KMT of oranges and generated $89 million during the last fiscal year (Mar '19 - Mar '20) which is an increase of 138% in volumes and 104% in value compared to the same period in the year before.
Mazandaran exported 158 KMT of kiwifruits from which generated $111 million. The increase in kiwifruits exports is 12% in volumes and 17% in value generated.
The Mazandaran region contributes greatly to the country's export income with 6,500 hectares of kiwifruit and 110,000-hectare orange orchards located in the region.
