Ghana remains largest exporter of Yam in West Africa

Despite Nigeria producing over 70% of Yam in West Africa, Ghana has remained the largest exporter of Yam tubers in West Africa as the value chain have remained organised. Stakeholders practice group marketing and producers adhere strictly to organic methods.
There is also an increased number of certified exporters for GlobalGap.
The main export destination for Ghanaian yam is North America, South America and Europe.
