Since February, Australian red lentil prices have remained high for the Turkish market due to rising freight prices. Red whole lentils offered at USD 690–700/MT CFR Mersin in February have increased to USD 720–730/MT as of March, despite no problems expected with crop tonnage in Australia. However, the Turkish market has lost its priority due to the high demand from India and Bangladesh and its freight advantage in the region.
