The Wuhan Epidemiological Control Center claims to have found traces of Covid-19 in the packaging of a batch of frozen beef from Uruguay. However, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries of Uruguay, after evaluating the case, was able to trace this a consignment produced in Uruguay in the month of December 2019 that has been stored since March 2020 in a warehouse of the Wuhan city, and, which would have reached first to South Africa, then to Malaysia and then to the city of Tianjin. The ministry also claims that Uruguay´s first official COVID-19 case was reported on March 13th 2020 thus making it impossible for those traces to have been originally shipped from Uruguay. So far no sanction has been applied.
