With Zimbabwe depleting their maize stocks at the beginning of 2020, this led to the increase of maize imports from South Africa. It is estimated that Zimbabwe will only produce half of what their annual maize consumption is. Therefore it is expected that imports from South Africa will increase at the the beginning of 2021.
