Argentine shrimp tails increased sales in terms of volume by about 5%, however, a 7% drop in price resulted in a reduction in collection of about 2.5%. A total of 38K tons were exported for USD 276M at an average value of USD 7,200/ton.
China kept its leading position as the product’s main buyer. In terms of volume, it imported 20% more but 11% cheaper than in 2019 hence paying USD 6.6K/ton. Peru increased its demand by 88%, displacing Spain from second place on the list of the main markets.
Spain bought 5% less compared to last year and although it paid less than in 2019, the average value was USD 7.5K/ton.
