The Eastern Black Sea Exporters' Association (DKİB) has reported a significant increase in Black Sea salmon exports, with a value of 102 million 647 thousand 711 dollars from 18 thousand 242 tons exported in the first eight months of the year. This represents a 275% increase in quantity and 357% increase in value compared to the same period last year. The top buyers were Russia, Vietnam, and Japan, with first-time exports to Iraq, Algeria, Denmark, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates. Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoğan, DKİB's Deputy Chairman, stated that the demand for Black Sea salmon is outstripping supply and called for an increase in cage numbers. He also emphasized the need to resolve bureaucratic issues in aquaculture to achieve exports worth over 1 billion dollars soon.
