A non-governmental organization, Sustainable Agriculture Technology (SAT), is running a program in southern Masvingo, Zimbabwe, to boost the income of over 1,500 households in Mwenezi and Chiredzi districts through pepper cultivation. The program, which started with growing fodder grass, has now shifted its focus to pepper farming to feed a new processing plant in Rutenga, the town's third such plant. The plant is set to accelerate Rutenga's development into a hub for processing and capital appreciation in the region.
