The year 2026, the year of the red horse, has dawned. May it be a year full of hope, like the powerful spirit of a red horse. I believe that the next four to five years will be a golden time to respond to the challenging task of expanding the volatility of marine resources. Our agency will continue sustainable marine resource development projects based on scientific criteria and evaluation systems, including marine forests, spawning and habitat, and the management of fishery seed resources. The restoration of the marine ecosystem is also an important task. The gear and buoy guarantee system, which has been pilot-applied to trawl gear since 2024 to prevent ghost fishing, is scheduled to be expanded to gillnets and buoys starting in 2026. We will strive to ensure that the voices of the field are sufficiently reflected in the operation of the system and expand the empathy with stakeholders.
