On September 21, 2021, in Beylikdüzü's Gürpınar Fisheries Market, a joint operation by various authorities led to the confiscation of around 3 tons of undersized tuna and 55 boxes of small horse mackerel. These fish were illegally caught in violation of size restrictions. The operation resulted in an administrative fine of 13,280 TL being imposed on three individuals. The operation was conducted by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Fisheries Branch Directorate, Coast Guard Marmara and Straits Regional Command, Gürpınar Patrol Command, and the IMM Police Department Headquarters Marine Police Headquarters.
