The Chinese New Year Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP) 2021 will be in effect from February 8 to 16, regulating the prices of 16 essential goods including chicken, chicken eggs, vegetables, seafood, and pork. This initiative aims to control the rise in essential good prices during the Chinese New Year celebration and the ongoing Movement Control Order. The prices set for these goods are in line with current market trends and subject to fines and penalties for non-compliance. KPDNHEP enforcement officers will monitor shopping locations for compliance, and consumers can lodge price-related complaints through various channels, including a People Complaints Action Squad (STAR), to ensure consumer protection.
