At noon on December 27, at the small market on An Duong Vuong Street (An Lac Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), many housewives were surprised when small traders displayed a long line of vegetable items such as lettuce, melons, gourds, and squash at unexpectedly low prices. Specifically, melons and gourds were priced at only 10,000 VND/kg; green squash and bitter melon were 15,000 VND/kg; lettuce, Chinese cabbage, and green beans were 25,000 VND/kg… Small traders also offered onions, limes, and shallots. Melons and gourds were priced at 10,000 VND/kg, while bitter melon was 15,000 VND/kg. A month earlier, the prices for these vegetables were all between 50,000 - 60,000 VND/kg. "The prices of vegetables are very cheap now, such as lettuce at the beginning of the month at 100,000 VND/kg, now only 25,000 VND; green onions a few weeks ago were also 100,000 VND, now only 50,000 VND/kg… Currently, only peppers are expensive, around 130,000 – 160,000 VND/kg, commercial peppers are around 200,000 ...
