In 2022, Ukraine saw a 7% increase in soybean production, reaching 3.7 million tons across 1.5 million hectares. The Danube Soy Association marked 17.5% of this production as sustainable, adhering to EU standards without GM and without deforestation. This initiative is part of the Protein Partnership Program, aiming to boost sustainable non-GM soybean production for the EU. From September 2022, there was a rise in purchase prices for soybeans in Ukraine, with plans to sow at least 1.2 million hectares in 2023 due to the crop's ease of cultivation, export potential, and benefits as a predecessor and successor to other grains.
