Paraguay has imposed additional customs duties ranging from 4.3% to 20% on 115 processed agricultural products, including cocoa-containing food items, tea, cocoa-free sugar products, chocolate, pastas, bread, cakes, biscuits, and beers, except for those originating from the European Union and countries with which Paraguay has a Free Trade Agreement. The decision aims to protect and support domestic production and will be effective 15 days after its publication. The customs duties on imports of garlic, walnut, banana, tea, snack, and sunflower will be adjusted effectively without increasing the customs duties.
