African swine fever on large farms in Romania and Bulgaria

In Romania, two large pig farms recently became infected with African swine fever virus. On August 17, the virus was diagnosed on a farm with 27,000 pigs. A few weeks earlier, the virus struck a company with 29,000 animals. Also in Bulgaria, a farm with 13,000 pigs was found to be infected on 17 August.
