The Minister of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services and Vice President, Geraldo Alckmin, criticized on Monday (27) the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, for his actions amid the tariff hike imposed by the United States on Brazil.
In an interview with the portal, the acting president of the Republic stated that the State of São Paulo is the most affected by the taxation on Brazilian products, as it is from there that a large part of the high value-added products exported to the United States originate.
"I regret the stance of the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas. First, because the state is one of the main victims of the tariff hike. It is not possible to applaud the U.S. president at a time like this. It is where the industry, which is the most affected by the tariff hike, is most strongly located," he declared.
