The Agricultural Support Program (PASA) in Algeria, funded by the European Union and French and German public entities, aims to modernize and sustain the olive oil production chain in the country. The program will cover nearly 130,000 hectares of olive groves in the northern part of the country, focusing on sustainable water management and reducing the environmental impact of olive cultivation. The program will also provide training to farmers on tree health monitoring, pruning techniques, and optimal harvesting and milling practices. Additionally, PASA will invest in the economic development of the olive chain, promote gender equality, and adopt a regional quality standard for nurseries and laboratories.
