Hungarian Agriculture Minister, István Nagy, has announced a series of measures to boost the global competitiveness of Hungarian wine and champagne. The plan includes additional support for grape growers and wineries, with over HUF 24 billion already allocated for winemaking machinery and technological equipment. The ministry will continue its support until 2024, after which a strategic plan will take over. Nagy also introduced a new package of measures to aid grape growers and wineries, allowing mountain communities to operate as producer integration organizations for the joint sale of grapes or wine. The ministry will also increase its support for EU subsidies for the renewal of vineyards and purchase of wine machinery.
