Embrapa launches this Tuesday (04/14), at 10:30 am (Brasília time), the work "Agricultural and forest entomology in the Amazon: challenges and opportunities for research." The publication, available in digital format, represents an advance in addressing the phytosanitary problems that affect agroforestry production in the Amazon region. With 691 pages and the participation of 112 authors – including researchers, professors, technicians, and graduate students – the book is the result of a collective effort initiated during the II Seminar on Agricultural Entomology and Acarology in the Amazon (Seama), held in Manaus in 2018. The work consolidates knowledge about 105 species of pest arthropods – 96 insects and 9 mites – that threaten both traditional crops and native forest species.
