In order to obtain high-quality timber and reduce the risk of forest fires due to the accumulation of combustible material, the National Forest and Wildlife Service (Serfor) developed a day of management for pine plantations (Pinus radiata) together with the peasant community Ramón Castilla, from the hamlet of Shecta, in the district of Independencia, Huaraz province, Ancash region. This action was carried out in coordination with the District Municipality of Independencia, through its Risk Management Office, the Peruvian Society of Environmental Law (SPDA), and the César Vallejo University, through its Social Responsibility program.
