Turkey: anchovy's weight increased to 40 lira

Fish counters were not empty in Çanakkale, which spent the weekend with snowfall. Despite the snowfall and cold weather, the fishermen went out to sea and hunted. The stalls were full of fish. In the Çanakkale Fish Market, Black Sea anchovy was sold for 40 lira, horse mackerel 50, colyoz 30, yellow bird 100, red mullet 50 and cupes for 25 lira. Tradesmen stated that fish consumption increased during the epidemic period and suggested that citizens consume fish to keep their immune systems strong. Balıkçı Volkan Kaşıkçı said, "Since there is a ban on fishing for anchovies at the moment, the weight is sold around 40-45 TL. After the ban is over, it drops to around 25-30 TL. Demand for other fish has increased because of the decrease in anchovies. This year there was no bluefish. We had hope but did not happen. Instead of it, the yellow bird became a blue bird.
