The Brazilian animal feed industry has shown resilience during the pandemic, with a 4.7% growth in the first nine months of 2020, translating to a projected total production of 81.1 million tons for the year, nearly 5% higher than the previous year. This growth is impressive given the challenges of the global economy and the reduction in shipments to China. The demand for animal protein, especially during the holiday season, and the ability to serve exporters have contributed to the sector's performance. Within this, the production of feed for broilers and laying hens has seen significant growth, with broiler feed production almost at the expected pre-pandemic rate and laying hen feed production expected to increase by 5.5%.
