Turkey: Artichoke planted as alternative product for the first time in Kandıra pleases the producers

Artichoke, which started to be produced for the first time as an alternative product on idle lands in Kocaeli's Kandıra district, made the farmer smile with its harvest. A demonstration planting of artichokes was carried out last September on the idle lands in Kandıra within the scope of the "Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry Development Project". 10 farmers, who brought their lands to the economy with the artichoke seedlings given as a grant, started the harvest of the product that adapts to the region. After being cut, the artichokes, which are cleaned and offered for sale in the neighborhood markets in Kocaeli, are in high demand from the consumers.
