"The year 2025 was like 2024 - extremely extreme from the point of view of climatic conditions. Yields everywhere, with few exceptions, were below the critical minimum. We are talking about an average yield of 400-500 kg/da, whereas the normal yield is 1000-1200 kg/da. We had a high purchase price, but only for the white varieties - 1.50 lv., but when there are direct costs of around 1000 lv./da, the value per kilogram is 2.50 lv. Even at a wholesale purchase price of 1.50 lv./kg, the growers lose 1 lv./kg. As for those with red varieties, there was no realization at all," Atanas Vasilev, Chairman of the National Association of Bulgarian Winegrowers (NASBL), analyzed the wine grape year for Agri.BG.
