"I sold calves at 200 kilos to be able to keep operating, when the ideal was to raise them to 400 kilos," says the farmer.

Víctor Themtham (47) was born in General Acha, La Pampa, and studied for a degree in agricultural management, although he did not complete his thesis. Today he lives in "Campo La 17", rented, in the area of Miguel Riglos, 80 kilometers southeast of Santa Rosa. In several rented fields and one of his own, he continues to develop the cattle ranching that his father started. One of the fields he rents, in Chacharramendi, is all forest and there he has a breeding rodeo. Two months ago he bought a field from relatives, in Puelches, also forested and very rugged, in the south-central part of the province.
